Marriages in India are synonymous to jewellery. The traditional jewellery of India is what makes the Indian weddings so rich and unique in their own manner. There are exclusive designs and works which complete the traditional look of the jewellery. The traditional gold jewellery is passed on for generations and families hold jewellery made many decades ago. The different jewellery includes armlets, bracelets, bangles, necklaces, earrings, fingerings, toe rings, nose rings, anklets, pendants and waistbands.

Different regions and cultures follow their unique designs and works. The south is known for its extensive temple based large deigns, the north is known for its exclusive carved designs, the west is known for its mirrored and stoned works and the east is famous for its beaded work. Many trends are taken from the Middle East regions but the designing is unique.

Pair of toe rings is a symbol of a married girl. These toe rings are usually made of silver and can even be studded with a stone. There are different styles of nose rings worn by women of different cultures. In the north they were large nose rings, sometimes the nose rings are bigger than the bangles they wear. The larger nose ring denotes the wealth of the husband. In the west nose rings are called nath, they are made of pearls and stones. Necklaces of traditional temple designs or the eminent kolhapuri sajh designs are sought after. North Indians cherish the traditional panchangal, which is a five ring connected gold jewellery for all the fingers in a hand. The waistband also known as kamarband is made out of gold or silver and is studded with precious stones. Earrings come in varied designs and types; there is the traditional long jhukams, which are long and bulky with detailed designing. The anklet is of two types; moveable and immovable. The flexible ones are made by joining rings of the metal, usually silver and the immovable ones are made like bangles with a gap to fit into the leg. The traditional Indian jewellery dates long back and is still famed for its design. These popular works are one of the sought after designs worldwide.

Indian beauty tips are hard to find. There is really no common knowledge when it comes to things of beauty in India. Mehandi Indian women have done for years and years. If you do not know what is Mehandi you may know as the most common name Henna. Mehandi is the art of creating beautiful tattoos on the hands and feet of women. When Mehandi was first used, it was used for its medicinal properties, rather than decoration. The henna plant is used in the manufacture of dyes, you use the powder of the plant and mixed with tea, coffee, lime and eucalyptus oil. It is also used as a treatment for hair.

Indian women keep their skin impeccable diet by eating fish and high protein. They use the food rather than lotions or creams to achieve great skin. They also use care when they are in the sun. They wear hats or scarves to cover their faces. Sunlight causes the skin to age more rapidly than to be in the shade. An Indian beauty tip that most people are not aware of is for foot care. Indian women wear shoes that support the foot well, because they are not wearing 4-inch heels just look nice. Wearing shoes that are sound, rather than how they will look. They do not wear the same shoes every day.

The footwear of choice is made from natural materials, because it helps the foot breathe. Try to wear shoes or slip on the lace on the foot of your foot for comfort. Of all the beauty tips you can try these tricks at home beauty. If you have swollen eyelids, take a drop of castor oil cooler. To cool your eyes use slices of cucumber or cotton balls or pads soaked in milk. Put them on your eyes for a moment and relax. In an ideal world, we all get the ideal amount of sleep for our bodies every night, even if this does not necessarily mean eight hours. Sleep experts admit that some of us to prosper 4 hours per night, while others need at least 10 to feel their best. To find out how much is right for you, go to bed when you are tired and get up when you wake up for a week, and to calculate how much time you have spent in bed. Divide the week into total of seven – that is sleepload your best. If you find it hard to get to sleep, there are things that can help you.

You can try to put a drop of pink in the eye before you go to bed, you refresh the eyes. To stop your lips chapping fermentation use hot water on your lips, then use Vaseline and honey. You can use this solution three times a week. To prevent hair loss, there is an Indian thing, you can use and that is to use a drink rich in biotin. Blend a few bananas with honey, yogurt and low-fat milk. Drink this for a few weeks, it should do the trick.

Saree, the eternally fashionable and elegant drape from India, has defined Indian womanhood for over 5000 years now. Its charm lies in its simplicity, flowing grace, the endless possibilities it offers. Available in countless interesting fabrics, patterns and colours, this six-yard wonder is the most preferred garment in any woman’s wardrobe.

Saree – Always Trendy, Always Appropriate Over the years, the saree has evolved to suit the changing lifestyle and preferences of its wearer. In spite of the growing popularity of western wear, saree still holds its ground firmly. Being the only garment that conceals figure flaws and brings out the best in any woman, saree is equally admired by both wearers and designers. It is considered the most sensuous, stylish and sophisticated attire even today. From Shimmering Silks and Elegant Chiffons to Flowing Crepes and Georgettes, available in vivid colors and embellished with the most intricate embroidery work, saree comes in the most mesmerizing avatars one can imagine. Such wide-ranging variety makes it suitable for all occasions – from weddings to formal functions and official meetings to social get-togethers. Moreover, it looks gorgeous on women of all ages and builds.

Tips for Saree Wearers

* Heavier women should wear fabrics like Chiffon, Crepe, Georgette and avoid Organza, Tissue and Cotton. This rule applies vice versa for very thin women who want a fuller look.
* Large prints and sarees with broad borders make one look shorter.
* Heavier women should wear straight cut, non-flare petticoats underneath the saree.
* Cotton sarees should be starched and ironed properly before wearing.
* For office wear, one should choose cotton sarees in subtle colours and prints. These should be worn with the pallu folded in pleats and pinned on the shoulder.
* Heavy silk sarees with golden thread work should be wrapped in a saree cover before storing.
* Always wear sandals before draping the saree.

Endless Draping Possibilities

A saree can be draped in innumerable innovative styles. Few of these styles have originated as regional preferences – Bengali style, Gujarati style, Maharashtrian style, and others like the Airhostess style to suit professional requirements. Rest are purely inventive ways of wearing the same fabric differently. Most popular style of draping a saree is the Nivi drape (reverse style). Here the saree is tied around the waist, close to the navel, with 6-9 pleats tucked into the petticoat at the front and the pallu draped over the left shoulder. One can choose to either pin up the pallu loosely over the left shoulder or try a more professional look with a pleated pallu firmly put in place on the shoulder.Another popular style is the Gujarati drape. It is different from the reverse style, in the way the pallu is draped. Instead of the left shoulder, the pallu is brought to the front over the right shoulder and the left corner of the pallu is tucked near the left hip. Then there is the charming Bengali style where the sari is tucked in at the left side and then stretched back to the right hip from the left shoulder. The pallu is then encircled around the back to come out below the right arm and thrown again on the left shoulder. Interestingly a heavy key is used to keep it in place.

These are just a few of the possibilities in saree draping styles. With a little creativity, it is possible to experiment and create different styles for different occasions.

You might have seen Indians getting married and they were probably wearing Indian wedding sari. India is a large country and has different cultures and traditions when it comes to getting married. The wedding dresses will have to depend on the culture of the place. The wedding dress will vary on the region that you are in.

However they wear Indian wedding sari, the type of Indian wedding sari also come in styles which are quite common to the place. To introduce the Indian wedding sari, it is a cloth with a certain length which is being wrapped around the body which follows a design or a pattern which is intricate.

The only thing that holds the Indian wedding sari are pins. It keeps the Indian wedding sari tucked in the body especially in the waistband. When it is wrapped around, there is a remaining part which is draped over the shoulder of the bride.

The “pallu” is known as the remaining length of the cloth when the sari has been wrapped around the body. This is known as the Indian wedding style of the dresses. The Indian wedding sari may come in a variety of colors depending on the theme of the wedding.

There are some Indian wedding saris that are cheap because the cloth that is used has a simple fabric while some of the Indian wedding saris are too expensive because of the property of cloth that is being used. Sometimes, some of the Indian wedding sari is being passed on as tradition goes.

When a woman is going to get married, some of the elders will pass on the Indian wedding sari that they have used during their wedding. This is the reason why Indian wedding sari is kept after the wedding ceremony. This makes it more memorable and for them, it brings some luck that can be passed on to the newly wed.

If you are not Indian but want to wear have an Indian wedding sari, you can have it if you want. However, it is quite hard to look for the sari fabric because you need to go to India in order to buy it. Some are sold in other boutiques especially from Indian boutiques. Most Indian wedding sari is colored red because it is the traditional color of a wedding sari.

The red color also represents happiness and good luck to the couple who are getting married. White Indian wedding sari will represent mourning for the Indians that is why they don’t go for it. No matter how you want to wear a white Indian wedding sari, you cannot wear it in India because for them, it represents sadness.

If you have been used to white wedding gowns, you will be surprised to see Indians wearing Red Indian wedding sari but its how they look at it. Indian wedding sari has been worn for a long time ago but nowadays, a lot of people are wearing saris and you can even see them everywhere.

Now that you know how a red Indian wedding sari is important to the Indian people, you can try looking for it if you want to have a wedding the Indian way. After all, wedding gowns have been common so why don’t you try to give it another taste. Wear Indian wedding sari on your wedding and wear it red.

Everyone desires beauty. A few simple tips can help you change your looks and your lives – but remember you can be nothing without confidence. It is all about inner beauty at the end of the day!

Skincare | Hair care | Makeup Basics | Lipstick | Makeup Tips | Lips | Eyes

Beauty tips – Skin Care Skincare
Our skin (especially the face) is the largest exposed portion of the body. That pure, translucent and creamy texture of baby skin disappears before we can even begin to appreciate it. As teenagers, we have what we call teenage skin problems and by the time we overcome them, we suddenly start facing age!

Though a lot of skin problems are genetic, with the kind of products and treatment available in the market, anything is possible.

However, the most important way to maintain your skin is to clean it, moisturize it and protect it on a daily basis.

Daily cleansing, (more than once a day depending on your routine) is of vital importance. If you are always on the go, it is advisable to carry wet towels or an astringent with you, even if it means reapplying your make-up. If you have oily skin, splash your face with water a couple of times during the day and use oil-free cleansers and toners.

Use sun block (preferably a water proof one) every day (and not only when you are on a vacation).

Care for beautiful skin Use a moisturizer (on your body as well) at least once a day. You could use an oil-free moisturizer if you have an oily skin, but a moisturizer is a must.

Before applying or reapplying make-up, ensure your skin is absolutely clean (this will help preventing blocked pores). Again, make sure your skin is devoid of all make-up before you sleep. The skin repairs itself while you sleep and blocked pores will only come in the way!
Hair care

Hair care for healthy and shiny long hair No matter how much efforts you make, or spend time or money on the perfect hair cut or a color job, nothing is more attractive than a head of healthy hair. For healthy, shiny hair, you need to:

* Eat healthy food – fresh vegetables, salads, fruits and fish
* Avoid cigarettes
* Take vitamin supplements – Vitamin B, C and E
* Wash your hair regularly – be gentle, use a mild shampoo and scrub with the pad of your fingers
* Condition your hair regularly
* Get a cut to complement your face, body, hair texture and lifestyle. Spend time deciding your cut – consult your hair dresser and be confident and comfortable before you get your cut.
* If you decide to color you hair, think about the colors you wear and are comfortable with. Remember to use color-specific shampoos and to do regular protein treatments.

Makeup Basics

Base
Make up tips and basics Most of us have yellowish skin, rather than pink. The most common error made in choice of foundation is choosing a base that’s too pink! Fortunately, most cosmetic companies have now come out with foundations with yellow pigmentation. According to US make-up artist Kevin Aucion, “Make-up should blend with the color of the neck, not the face.” These days some companies hand out samples for trial – it is always helpful to take the sample home and try the foundation for a few days – that way you will know how you feel with it before buying the full size. Applying foundation with a sponge, brush or your fingers is an individual decision and should be done with whatever is most comfortable for you, but these are few ground rules you can work with.

How to apply compact:

* A compact is best applied with a sponge (usually comes with the compact you buy).
* Liquid foundation is best applied with your fingers.Spot and smudge. The other option is wedge shaped sponge.
* Loose powder foundation is best applied with a big brush.
* Cream foundation is best applied with the fingers or a wedge shaped sponge.
* Foundation mousse is best applied with a soft flat sponge or with your fingers.
* To dilute or for lighter coverage, you could dampen the applicator you use before dipping into foundation.

A foundation works best with a good concealer – make sure your concealer matches you skin tone perfectly. It is best to dab on your concealer (lightly) after applying your foundation. That way the foundation will not wipe off the concealer. You could apply a translucent powder after – to conceal the concealer!
Lipstick

Lipstick basics and tips The best reason to buy a lipstick is to make you feel better, to help enhance your mood and to just add that special boost to your life. Lipstick can provide a subtle or dramatic change to your natural look, and will always make you feel different, like hair color, for instance.

The worst reason to buy a lipstick is because you think it’s a beautiful color or because it is the latest rage. The color you choose should your complement your skin tone, your hair color and your eyes – not change them!

Lipsticks are available in four basic textures: Glossy, sheer, creamy and matte.
Makeup Tips

Before applying any makeup, you should clean your face with water, which has a pinch of soda bicarbonate in it. Then apply ice cubes on the face. This enables the makeup to last longer.

Concealer is used to hide dark circles around the eyes, and is also used to cover blemishes and scars. A beige concealer is ideal for dark skins and one with natural tones for fairer skins. This should be spread evenly using a dry sponge or your fingers. Now, apply the foundation.

Foundation is used to enhance the colour of the complexion. Three basic types may be used, depending upon your skin type. For dry skin, liquid foundation works best whereas semi-liquid is best for combination skins. Foundation can be applied with a sponge and blended into the hairline and along the jaw for a natural finish.

Translucent powder is used to dust the face. This helps the foundation to stay on longer. Excess powder should be brushed off. Blusher should be blended evenly along the cheekbones.
Lips

make up tips for lips The lips should be outlined with a lip liner so that the lipstick does not bleed. Lipstick is then applied and blended with the lip liner. Then dust your lips with powder so that the lipstick lasts for a longer period of time, and then apply the last coat.

Eyes
makeup tips for the eyes Eye shadow colours should be selected carefully, light shadow is applied on to the lids to create a base. Darker eye shadow is then used at the outer corners of the eyes, to enhance the eyes. A kajal or kohl stick can be used in the inner eyelid to make the eyes appear even more dramatic. Mascara applied to the lashes increases this effect. Eyebrows should be sharp and tidy and should be free of all traces of makeup.
